Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Technician subsisted on a steady diet of YA fantasy, romance, and chocolate chip cookies from a very young age. She discovered a love for writing in elementary school and a passion for editing soon after. While attending University of California at Davis, she began her editing career at nonprofit The Culture C.O.-O.P. After graduating, she cut her publishing teeth at literary publisher Brink Literacy Project. She is currently a senior editor and managing web editor for their groundbreaking literary journal F(r)iction.
The Technician now pursues her ultimate love: editing novels. She specializes in speculative fiction and romance. She is especially passionate about stories that introduce cultural richness and diversity. She aims to help more women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color to find success, and hopes to one day create a scholarship to help address the problem of privilege in the publishing industry.
When she’s not curled up with a good book, you can find the Technician taking group classes at the gym, playing volleyball, or baking up a storm. You may also surprise her in the kitchen singing along to Andrea Bocelli (don’t tell her I said that).
